Application Field

Working Principle

When the 5KP33CAE3/TR13 is exposed to potentially damaging voltage, electric current flows through it and dissipates electrical energy without causing damage to the equipment or components. This diode is an electro-optical semiconductor device which is designed to protect against overvoltage transients, and it operates using the Avalanche breakdown phenomenon. When the voltage applied across these devices reaches a certain point, called the breakdown voltage, an avalanche of free electrons is produced which causes the diode to rapidly change from a highly resistive to a very low resistive state.
