TVS diodes protect sensitive electronic components from voltages and currents that exceed their normal working levels; such as, when an inductive load is turned off or lightning strikes. The function of TVS diodes is to protect from electrical overstress (EOS). 5KP5.0CA-HRA diodes are high-performance, bidirectional, stand-off transient voltage suppression diodes with a repetitive peak pulse power rating up to 30 W per line.

The 5KP5.0CA-HRA diodes are typically used in transient voltage suppressor (TVS) applications. It can be placed parallel to the load it is protecting to provide transient protection between any two points in the circuit.
