Working Principle of 5KP7.0A-E3/73
When a transient voltage pulse occurs, the current entering the TVS Diode will cause the voltage on the anode to rise above the breakdown voltage. This causes the diode to switch on. This will draw additional current through the diode, reducing the voltage on the anode with respect to the cathode. The resultant reduction in voltage reduces or eliminates the effect of the transient voltage.
Once the voltage across the TVS Diode is reduced to a safe level, it turns off and the diode will return to its non-conductive state. This protects the delicate circuit components from further damage and ensures the circuit continues to operate normally.
