TVS-Diodes (Transient Voltage Suppressor DIodes) are specialized semiconductor devices designed to protect circuits in electronic devices from transient overvoltage surges. The 5KP90C is an example of one of these devices. It also offers a wide operating temperature range from -55°C to +175°C. The nominal clamping voltage of the 5KP90C is approximately 5V. It also has a low capacitance of 0.269pF at 1MHz and a low leakage current of 0.25nA.

The 5KP90C is generally used in applications where transient overvoltage surges need to be handled quickly and safely. Common applications include switching power supplies, DC-DC converters, Solid State Drives, and other computer-related infrastructure such as Optical Drives, Ethernet ports, USB ports, and Serial buses.
