The two aluminum foils, which are separated by the separator, form two capacitors in series. The operation of an aluminum electrolytic capacitor begins with a voltage applied between the two electrodes. The positive electrode attracts electrons, forming a positive charge, while the negative electrode repels electrons and builds up a negative charge. The capacitance of the capacitor is determined by the distance between the two electrodes and their surface area. As the voltage on the capacitor increases, the distance between the two electrodes decreases, resulting in an increase in capacitance.Application Field & Working Principle
