Tantalum-Polymer capacitors work on the same principle as other capacitors but make use of tantalum metal and a different formulation of electrolyte to create a device much smaller than the traditional aluminum electrolytic capacitors.

The 6TPE100MAZB model of tantalum-polymer capacitor is designed to perform high-quality audio applications and offers rates of longevity that can be over ten times that of a traditional aluminum electrolytic capacitor. The small size of this type of capacitor provides the advantage of being able to fit into more spaces, allowing them to be used in even the most tightly packed designs.

Tantalum-polymer capacitors work by placing two conductive plates, either an ionic liquid or a gaseous electrolyte, between two positive and negative electrodes. The positive and negative charges become separated between the plates and then as current is supplied additional electrons are attracted to the negative electrode creating a storage charge between the two plates.

The 6TPE100MAZB tantalum-polymer capacitor uses a high-k dielectric, or insulating material, which has high capacitance and dielectric strength. This allows it to generate a voltage capacity rating of 100 volts and a maximum operation temperature of 105 degrees Celsius.
