Time Delay Relays (TDRs) are commonly used in control systems where a delay is needed between the operation of two different functions. When the external trigger signal is given, the resistor serves to limit the current flowing from the power supply to the capacitor. The transistor, which acts as a switch, is in series with the resistor and capacitor. When the Voltage at the capacitor reaches a certain level, the transistor is activated, allowing the current to flow from the capacitor to the relay and activating it.
The time delay of the 7022JC is adjustable up to a maximum delay time of 10 seconds. It is possible to adjust the time delay by replacing a resistor, capacitor or both components simultaneously. This allows for customization and optimization of the timing of the TDR and makes the 7022JC a versatile choice for a variety of applications.
