Features
The Molex 70247-4001 provides the advantages of having both an autoclavable terminal and header in one package. The terminal contacts are made of Phosphor Bronze with Nickel-plated finish. The header employs a black LCP housing with a 0.2 mm (0.008”) wall thickness for sturdiness and stability. It has a mating surface featuring vertical mating alignment for easy assembly. The header housings of this series include right angle (RA) and SMT/TH tolerances for flexibility in circuit board design. The terminal contacts feature a locking ramp that secures the cable in place and prevents it from detaching due to vibration or external force.
Application Field
Molex 70247-4001 connectors are predominantly used for traditional Mixed Printed Wiring Applications (MPWA) and also for power electronics applications that require a low profile terminal and header with high current ratings. Working Principle
The Molex 70247-4001 series connector works in the following way. The header locking ramp takes the shape of the cable and holds it firmly against the terminal contacts of the header. This prevents the cable from moving, even when external force is applied. The contacts also grip the cable firmly, eliminating the need for additional parts to secure it. The terminal contacts of the header feature gold-plating on both signal and power contact surfaces. This ensures that the contacts make firm contact with the mating header and the connection is live and secure.
