The 74AC157MTCX is a quad 2-line-to-1-line data selector/multiplexer designed for 1.65 V to 5.5 V and from -40°C to +85°C operation temperatures. It is ideal fordecoding addresses, and for data routing applications. This device is pin compatible with the standard CMOS 74HC/HCT157 and 74AC/ACT157 ICs. The 74AC157MTCX is part of a broad family of active signal switches, multiplexers, decoders, and demultiplexers integrated circuits. Many signal switching functions are supported by selection of a few external passive components: resistors, diodes, and capacitors as well as drivers. Generally, signal switches and multiplexers are used to route certain signal lines in a circuit and multiplexers are used to connect two or more signal sources to a single signal line. This device provides quad, 2:1 multiplexers/data selectors. Each multiplexer is controlled by the binary address {A0, A1} applied to the select (S) inputs. The multiplexer will select one of two active low data inputs (D0 or D1) determined by the address lines. The selected data is transferred to an active low data output (Y). It has high speed operation with a typical propagation delay time of 4.1 ns.The device also has a power-down disabling feature that when enabled turn off the multiplexers and prevents them from switching erroneously.
