• Snap Action Switches
  • Application Field: Snap action switches are mostly used in electronic applications, such as alphanumeric displays and games, lighting equipment and industrial equipment.
  • Working Principle: In a snap action switch, the contact assembly is mounted in a specially designed housing with a certain spring tension on the movable contact. The contact closes when some force is applied to the movable contact, either in the form of mechanical force (push/pull/twist) or of electrical current. The movable contact then springs back, thus re-opening the contact.
• Limit Switches
  • Application Field: Limit switches are primarily used in industrial applications, and are used to control and monitor automated processes. Examples include detecting the position of a lever to control a machine, or to indicate when an actuator has reached the end of its travel.
  • Working Principle: A limit switch consists of a movable contact arm and a stationary contact point. When the movable arm is actuated (either by physical or electrical force), the contact arm closes the contact point, thus completing the circuit and activating the device. Similarly, when the actuator is released, the contact point opens and the circuit is broken.
