8402010AKILF is a clock generator, phase locked loop (PLL) and frequency synthesizer designed to provide the highest level performance and the best solution to most application requirements. The 8402010AKILF (hereafter referred to as 8402010) is capable of providing any clock generation requirements from digital and analog clock generation to frequency synthesizer control and clock expansion. The 8402010 utilizes an on-chip high-performance on-chip Digital Phase Locked Loop (DPLL) and a versatile digital frequency synthesizer that provides the user with a wide frequency range from 10 MHz to 120 MHz with the system clock accuracy of better than 50 ppm.

The DPLL in the 8402010 allows for frequency generation with selectable modulation, frequency multiplication, and synchronization modes. The DPLL can be easily programmed to generate a periodic signal at specific frequencies or as a frequency multiplier. The output of the DPLL can be used to generate both analog and digital clock signals. The 8402010 also features two independent programmable PLLs that are used to provide clock expanders and synchronization to different reference clocks. The two PLLs can be used in combination or separately to generate 16 different clock signals.
