The 93LC46B-I/MS is a type of serial EEPROM chip utilized by a variety of electronic systems to store data. A small electrical current is sent through a single pair of wires, usually referred to as SERIAL CLOCK (SCK) and SERIAL DATA (SDI) , to transfer data.

The 93LC46B-I/MS utilizes a three wire serial protocol that allows for data to be written to or read from the chip. The three wire serial protocol allows for data to be written to the chip by transmitting a start bit, followed by 8 bits of address, followed by 8 bits of data, and finally by a stop bit. To read data from the chip, the start and address bits must be transmitted, followed by the received data, and finally by a stop bit.

The 93LC46B-I/MS transfers data through the bus at speeds of up to 1 MHz, allowing for quick write and read operation. Aside from this, the chip also contains an internal write protection register that allows for up to 128 bytes of data to be write protected, thereby preventing the data from being overwritten. Furthermore, the chip uses a two level data protection system, that is write protected, that ensures that any data stored is secure.

The 93LC46B-I/MS also incorporates an Automatic Address Incrementing mechanism that allows the chip to increase the address as each byte of data is given, thereby eliminating the need for the user to calculate the address and providing for a more efficient programming operation. This chip also contains a self-timed write cycle that is initiated when data is sent to the chip and automatically terminates when data is written or transferred from the chip.

The 93LC46B-I/MS is a highly adaptable and reliable serial EEPROM that can be used in many different applications.
