The 93LC66AT-E/ST’s Serial Addressable Interface is composed of four pins, namely SI (serial input), SO (serial output), SCK (clock) and CS# (chip select). Serial signals are used for data input and output, allowing for a high speed transfer rate of up to 10 Mbps for data communication. Data is presented byte by byte, and is written and read serially from the memory array.

The 93LC66AT-E/ST’s erase and write cycles are performed in blocks of bytes, which can vary from 1 to 32 bytes. The write cycle is triggered by the CS# pin going low. The CS# pin must remain low until the write cycle is complete, which is indicated by the WEL bit set in the status register. The write cycle can be aborted by releasing the CS# pin prior to this bit being set.
