The A1326LLHLX-T magnetic sensor is a linear compass IC capable of measuring both ambient magnetic field direction and analog level. This IC was developed to provide a reliable and accurate measurement of the relative north direction of a mobile vehicle, antenna, or navigation system application. As such, it is often used in consumer electronics, navigation systems, and telecommunications applications.

The A1326LLHLX-T utilizes a semiconductor Hall element combined with a dynamic degaussing circuit and digital signal processing to detect both the angle and directivity of the ambient magnetic field. The resulting output is a digital serial data stream with a selectable resolution of 0.1°, 1.0°, or 4.0° resolution. The device also features a low-power sleep mode to conserve battery life for battery-powered applications.

The A1326LLHLX-T also features an integrated digital signal processor for compensating environmental magnetic distortions due to ferrous materials, temperature, or other factors. This ensures that the ic delivers highly accurate measurements even in challenging conditions. The A1326LLHLX-T also features comprehensive electronics protection to guard against reverse polarity, static discharges, and electromagnetic interference.

The operation of the A1326LLHLX-T is centered around the integration of two Hall elements – a low field sensitivity device and a high field sensitivity device – in order to measure both ambient magnetic field intensity and direction. The integrated degaussing circuit helps to reduce external magnetic interference. The dual-axis Hall element array then measures the intensity and direction of the ambient magnetic field and sends the resulting output to the analog to digital converter (ADC). This converted output is then sent to the main CPU input for further processing.

The main CPU then utilizes digital signal processing algorithms to extract both the desired angle and the amount of variance from the input data signal. The angle and variance data is then sent to the serial output for further processing or display. The sensor is also capable of automatically calibrating the angle of the north direction and adjusting the dynamic range of its measurements according to environmental conditions. Thanks to the integrated degaussing circuit, the A1326LLHLX-T can perform accurate measurements even in harsh magnetic fields.

Using the A1326LLHLX-T, manufacturers can easily design navigation systems, consumer electronics products, and other applications that require accurate measurement of the relative north direction of a mobile device or antenna.
