A3423ELTR-T is a solid state magnetic sensor which uses Hall effect technology for switching. This type of sensors detects the presence or absence of magnetic fields and they have a wide range of applications including level sensing, door/window security detection, flow/velocity sensing, safety sensing etc. The A3423ELTR-T is specifically designed for industrial and automotive applications as it can operate under high temperature, high vibration and extreme environmental conditions.
The A3423ELTR-T is a single-pole, single-throw (SPST) device which activates when a certain level of magnetic field is detected. This is achieved by mounting a Hall-effect IC to a small, magnetically-sensitive board and connecting it to two output terminals. At a pre-determined threshold, the Hall Effect IC will generate an on/off signal which can be used to switch on/off an external circuit.
The working principle of the A3423ELTR-T is relatively simple. When the magnetic field around the board increases beyond the pre-set threshold, the voltage across the Hall Effect IC increases and forces the output pin to switch from low to high, thereby turning on the circuit. Conversely, a decrease in the magnetic field strength will cause the voltage across the Hall Effect IC to drop and the output pin to switch from high to low, thus turning off the circuit.
