With the rapid development of the automation and robotics industry in recent years, the application field of motor driver and controller has become more and more broad. A3950SLPTR-T, produced by Alceon, is one of them. This device is specially developed for low voltage switch polar DC brushless motor and can also compatible with brushed DC motors. Its main functions are:
Being capable of Electronic commutating (motor direction change by changing the output of a low frequency PWM signal).
Eliminate and reduce motor vibration and noise to an acceptable level.
Provide output current limit, dependent on temperature protection, adjust motor middle speed and protection against undervoltage
Provide short circuit protection as well as protection against overvoltage.
Can be programmable for different speed and working conditions.

A3950SLPTR-T has an overcurrent protection which monitors the current level in the gate driver circuit. Once the overcurrent is detected, this device will reduce the gate output voltage to protect the device against damage. It also has a temperature protection feature which can detect the temperature of the device itself. Once the temperature is too high, the device will reduce the average current of the device to protect itself against damage.
Apart from the above features, this device also has an Undervoltage Lockout (UVLO) feature that will shut down the output when the input voltage drops below a certain level. This prevents the device from running on less voltage and damaging itself. By combining all the features mentioned above, A3950SLPTR-T provides the highest reliability and a low application cost.
In addition to its excellent protection features, A3950SLPTR-T also offers great performance. It has an adjustable current limit and a middle speed adjustment feature to ensure the smooth control of the motor. It is also capable of operating from a 1.8V to 36V supply. With a switching frequency up to 20kHz, this device is ideal for low voltage switch polar DC brushless motors and compatible with all types of brushed DC motors.
