PMIC (Power Management IC) has a crucial role in the modern society. It is used to supply power to the microcontroller, logic, place the different voltage level, and adjust electric current. And the A3977SLPTR-T is one type of PMIC that is used to control motor, namely Motor Drivers, Controllers.

The A3977SLPTR-T is a single-chip motor driver IC that includes a Stepper motor driver and two MOSFETs. It is used for the control of two-phase stepper motor with sliding power drive and the RDS(on) is about 32mΩ for each of the MOSFETs. What is more, it is with low power dissipation and supports mixed, fast, slow current decay modes, as well as three stepping resolutions with six digital inputs.

A3977SLPTR-T has an advanced winding current regulation that automatically reduces the winding current when the motor is driven in low speeds. It also consists of an indexed chopper which reduces the power consumption at standstill. This feature makes the device ideal for battery-powered applications that require low power consumption and high precision motion control. It also has an internal thermal shutdown circuit and over-current protection that protect the device in case of overloaded condition.

Additionally, it has an integrated microstep controller which can be used to precisely perform the step operation and to achieve higher resolution.
