A3P030-2VQG100 is an FPGA from Avnet® that is a prime example of the many FPGA options available today. The A3P030-2VQG100 FPGA contains two primary processor cores – the embedded ARM® Cortex®-M0 and embedded ARM Cortex-M4 processor cores. Both offer high-performance application processing with different levels of scalability. The Cortex-M0 offers up to 25Mhz clock frequency, while the Cortex-M4 can handle speeds up to 180Mhz. Both of these cores are supported by an extensive memory system including tightly coupled single-cycle SRAM and ITCM.
In addition to the processing power of the A3P030-2VQG100, the FPGA also offers a variety of communication protocols. As the world continues to move more towards wireless and connected technologies, having the ability to support high-bandwidth wireless technologies such as Bluetooth® and Wi-Fi® is becoming more important. The A3P030-2VQG100 supports multiple high-bandwidth transceivers as well as onboard Ethernet PHY processors for lP/LTE and 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi.
The A3P030-2VQG100 also offers powerful security features such as advanced power-on reset circuitry, frequency scalability, real-time clock and calendar, reset push-button and tamper detection circuitry. This allows the FPGA to be used in applications requiring secure storage and operational integrity.
In addition to the features mentioned above, the FPGA also offers high-performance logic in the form of 16 dedicated two-input repeaters. These repeaters enable the FPGA to achieve faster speeds with less power consumed, thus offering an advantage for low-power embedded applications.
