Working Principle

The A5KP8.5CA-G is designed to suppress transient voltage spikes and to protect sensitive electronics from voltage transients. The tunnel diode, which is made up of a pair of diodes connected in reverse parallel with an AC coupling capacitor in between, is the active component of the device and is responsible for providing the voltage clamping function.
