Application fields

Working Principle

The A6267KLPTR-T employs a hysteretic current-mode control scheme where two current matching resistors act as both the current-sense amplifiers and the PWM dimming circuit. The input boost converter converts the input voltage into a regulated high voltage output which is then filtered, regulated and amplified before driving the LED strings. The two resistors are connected to the high voltage output to forms a voltage divider and the voltage across them is proportional to the current running through the LED strings.

The hysteretic current-mode control scheme works by regulating the output voltage of the input boost converter. If the voltage across the current sense resistors falls below the regulation threshold, the boost converter will increase the output voltage until higher than the regulation threshold again. The constant oscillation between higher and lower voltage is what causes the LED strings to keep providing the same amount of light.

The PWM dimming circuit works by varying the threshold voltage above which the boost converter will start increasing the output voltage. By varying the PWM duty cycle, the threshold voltage can also be varied, allowing for smooth and precise dimming control.

In addition, the A6267KLPTR-T provides overload protection and reverse current blocking to guard the LED strings from current inaccuracies and over voltage. This design ensures that the LED strings will not be damaged by sudden changes in current or voltage.
