A6861KLPTR-T is a low-side power switch designed for use in PMIC - Gate Drivers applications. It employs a advanced power MOSFET process to ensure high efficiency, excellent power stability and high reliability. The device is designed for use in automotive applications and offers a wide input voltage range from 4.5 V to 24 V. Moreover, the device can provide gate drive current up to 3 A and it has an integrated EMI filter for reduced noise interference.
The A6861KLPTR-T have various output voltage options such as adjustable output voltage (up to 1.8 V) and fixed output voltage (3.3 V, 5 V and 12 V). In addition, the device features a low stand-by current consumption, over temperature protection and under voltage lockout. The device also includes a 50 ns enable/disable delay time and a high-side enable pin.
The main working principle of A6861KLPTR-T is the use of a P-channel MOSFET switch to achieve electrical isolation between the input power digital circuit and the output load circuit. The external gate voltage is used to control the MOSFET switch on and off. When the gate voltage is at logic high, the MOSFET will be activated and current will flow from the source to the drain. Thus, energy is routed from the power source to the load. The output voltage is regulated by the output voltage setting pin, making the device suitable for multiple voltage applications.
Additionally, the device implements a Proportional-Integral (PI) control structure to reduce the output voltage ripple and improve load transient response. The PI controller includes two internal gain factors which control the output voltage regulation and overshoot. The device features a unique programmable Power Management Interface (PMI) for differential sensing, current sensing and voltage sensing. The PMI provides the flexibility to configure protection and monitoring functions, including the input voltage monitoring, the output overvoltage protection, the undervoltage protection and the short circuit protection.
