Thyristors are swivel components with two junctions and two dipoles created when the two junctions are combined. Triacs, a type of thyristor, is a three terminal, three-junction semiconductor device, which is essentially a rectifier voltage-controlled switch. The term Triac is derived from the words TRIode for A.C. It has the same operational characteristics as two back-to-back SCRs with their gates tied together. The ACTT10X-800EQ is a powerful Triac with a wide current range.
