The AD5337ARM is a low power, Rail-to-Rail, 8-bit, low voltage digital-to-analog converter (DAC). It combines a wide range of features, DAC resolution and uses low power CMOS technology with performance that goes beyond traditional pin-DAC architecture. It provides a range of applications with very low distortion, low output noise and excellent linearity.

Application Field

The AD5337ARM is ideally suited for low voltage portable systems and battery-operated equipment, providing adjustable voltage ranges from 0 to 5V to -5V. It is often used in industrial temperature measurement and control, medical metrology, the motor control field, audio systems and industrial automation, as well as in automotive applications.

Working Principle

The AD5337ARM specifies an 8-bit digital input word for programming the full-scale output voltage. The digital input word is translated into an analog voltage output through a successive approximation register (SAR). The SAR is a digital data-driven device that uses a series of comparators and an SRAM to convert a digital input into an analog voltage output.

The AD5337ARM includes power-on reset circuitry that sets all of the DAC\'s output to the mid-supply voltage (1/2VCC) upon power-up. Additionally, there is an external control pin and an internal 2.5V reference that sets the DAC full scale output voltage. The DAC output is buffered and can drive up to 15pF load without distortion.
