The AD5337ARMZ is a Micropower, Single/Dual, Low Power, 10/12-Bit Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC). It is designed to provide output voltage resolution down to 10/12 bits, respectively. The DAC device offers excellent accuracy and has zero latency due to its integrated reference voltage option. The AD5337ARMZ is a low power, low noise and low ripple output device. Application The AD5337ARMZ is suitable for a wide range of analog applications which require precise control of analog signals. Some of these applications can be found in industrial, medical and consumer devices, as well as automotive, instrumentation, HVAC and process control systems. The DAC is also useful for voltage or current control, as well as providing precision positioning and measurement tasks. Working PrincipleThe AD5337ARMZ is a 10/12 bit DAC, configured as a multiplying digital-to-analog converter (MDAC). It consists of two sub-units – a high-resolution DAC and a voltage reference unit, where the reference provides the reference voltage for the DAC. The reference voltage for the DAC is controlled by an input voltage applied to the REFIN pin.When an MDAC is used, the resolution is determined by the degree of accuracy of the reference, rather than the resolution of the DAC. In this configuration, the DAC resolution is split into two parts – one part being the reference voltage, and the other part being the overall accuracy of the device. The output of the DAC is determined by the following equation: Output voltage = ( REFIN x Digital Code ) / (2^N) where: REFIN is the reference voltage on the device, N is the resolution of the DAC (10 or 12 bits), Digital Code is the digital input code (3 to 10/12 bits). The output voltage is available from the OUT pin of the device. The output voltage range is offset from the reference voltage by an offset voltage, as set by the VCOM pin. The offset voltage can be either positive or negative depending on the selection of the VCOM setting resistor.
