The AD5371BBCZ is a digital-to-analog converter (DAC) designed for use in a variety of applications in the data acquisition industry. It is capable of delivering high precision and resolution, with a wide signal range, in a robust and space-saving package. The AD5371BBCZ provides high performance in both current output and voltage output configurations and is optimized for low noise and low power operation. The AD5371BBCZ is a 10-bit DAC with a linearity of 0.020 % (max) and an output current of up to 17 mA. It operates from a single 3.3 V supply and offers four different operating modes, namely single-ended current output, differential current output, single-ended voltage output and differential voltage output mode. In all operating modes, a very low latency of 20 ns is achieved, making it ideal for low-latency communication applications.

The AD5371BBCZ features a hardware-configurable write protection (WP) bit. This protection bit enables the DAC to be protected from writes during system startup and eliminates the need for external write protection circuitry. The DAC also features a synchronous clear feature that allows all DAC outputs to be reset and brought to a known state quickly. This feature is especially useful in applications where multiple DACs are used in a distributed configuration, and the reset of one channel affects all other channels.

The AD5371BBCZ is a very adaptable DAC and is suitable for various industrial and commercial applications such as communications and signal processing systems, power supplies and motor control, automotive applications, and medical instruments. The DAC register map allows the control of the DAC operation, the control of the output buffer and the configuration of the DAC. In voltage output mode, code 0x00000 results in a 0.00 V output, while code 0xFFFF results in a full-scale voltage. The voltage output range is adjustable by setting the WRV bit in the DAC register map. In current output mode, code 0x0000 results in a 0 mA output, while code 0xFFFF results in a full-scale current output.
