AD5547SRU-EP is a high-performance, low-noise, monolithic CMOS 12-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC) designed for high-precision measurement and control applications. The AD5547SRU-EP is a complete, single-channel DAC and includes the reference, output buffer, and associated logic.It provides 12-bit resolution (4096 states) and has a reference voltage range of 0 V to 2 V.The AD5547SRU-EP features a wide dynamic range, excellent linearity and ultra-low noise, enabling it to be used in demanding applications that require highly accurate, low-noise, wide-dynamic range conversions.The AD5547SRU-EP is ideally suited for precision data conversion applications, such as remote sensing, medical, and automotive systems, as well as for industrial automation and process control systems. It is also suitable for digital audio applications where high-resolution, low-noise, high-linearity conversions are necessary. The wide range of selectable reference voltages, the low power requirements, and the very quick settling time make the AD5547SRU-EP an ideal choice for demanding data conversion applications.The AD5547SRU-EP is a reference voltage driven 12-bit DAC which consists of a CMOS R-2R ladder network with pairs of resistors connected alternately in series. Its operation is based on the principle of weighted binary coding. A 12-bit binary word controls the ratio of the reference voltage (Vref) to the input voltage (Vin). The resolution of the DAC is obtained by dividing the binary number into eight equal bits (2⁸ to 2¹). The DAC also has an additional four bits of resolution that are used to increase the total number of full-scale values and improve accuracy of DAC resolution.The AD5547SRU-EP has a thermal drift of 1 ppm/°C, enabling it to provide a wide range of different linearities depending on the required application and desired accuracy. The maximum output current is up to 25 mA, providing a wide dynamic range. It also has an output buffer that has been optimized for low-noise and high-speed applications. The output buffer reduces the output offset and noise, as well as shielding the output from the effects of external noise, thereby providing guaranteed noise performance over the temperature and operating voltage ranges.The AD5547SRU-EP operates from a supply voltage range of 4.75 V to 5.25 V, or with an external voltage applied to the ROD pin for supply voltages up to 10 V. The device features an input voltage range of 0 V to 2 V, and is capable of resolving up to 4096 levels at 3 V.
