The AD605ARZ is a high performance difference amplifier which is used in a variety of applications, ranging from instrumentation to linear amplification. It is a precision amplifier with low noise, wide input common mode range (CMRR), and low-distortion inputs. This device is suitable for a wide range of fixed gain difference amplifier applications such as in medical instrumentation. It is also used in a number of other applications such as for driving A/D converters, low-power op-amps, buffer amplifiers, and various DC gain roles.
The primary purpose of the AD605ARZ is to amplify the difference voltage between two input signals with very little distortion. This is accomplished through its difference amplifier topology which is a differential pair connected to a pair of followers. The differential pair provides a high input common mode range (CMRR) and low distortion by accepting a wide range of input voltages. The followers provide gain and temperature stability resulting in a reliable, consistent output.
The AD605ARZ also has a variety of features which make it an attractive solution for both instrumentation and linear amplification applications. This device has a very low noise floor of 0.7µV(p-p) which reduces the total system noise as well as any signal to noise issues. This low noise also improves linearity across a wide range of input signals. It also has rail-to-rail input and output with a wide rail-to-rail operating voltage range of up to ±18V.
In addition to its good noise performance, the AD605ARZ also has a wide input voltage range which is adjustable with an external reference. The AD605ARZ also has excellent slew rate and settling time of 0.2µs and 1.25µs, respectively, which is useful when amplifying high frequency signals.
The AD605ARZ is also capable of handling large load capacitances of up to 85 pF while maintaining a low-power supply of only 5V and an output drive current of 65mA. This makes it suitable for applications requiring high-speed and/or high-power operation with low power dissipation. Furthermore, this device can be configured for either AC or DC coupled operation for a wide range of applications.
