The AD7506KN is a high-speed CMOS analog multiplexer/demultiplexer which operates from a single +3 V supply. The AD7506KN is composed of four individual multiplexer/demultiplexers with 6-bit data input and common control inputs. It is easy to use and well-suited for numerous applications, such as communications and data acquisition systems, and industrial and automotive applications.

Working Principle of AD7506KN
The AD7506KN multiplexer/demultiplexer is composed of four sections, each with six data input and common control inputs. Each section has two or four enable and active-low control inputs. These enable and control inputs determine which of the four sections will be active and which will be inactive. When the enable inputs are asserted, the corresponding section is enabled and the data inputs are driven to their active state. When the enable inputs are de-asserted, the corresponding section is disabled, and the output is driven to a high impedance state. The enable and control inputs of the other sections the not affected by the enable and active-low control inputs. Each section has an enable output, which is driven high when the enable input is asserted, and is driven low when the enable input is de-asserted. The AD7506KN is designed to have less than 1 Ohm of switch resistance when the enable input is asserted and it is also designed to have a leakage current of less than 1 microamps when the enable input is de-asserted.
The AD7506KN multiplexer/demultiplexer is unique in that it has two enable inputs which can be used in conjunction with two active-low control inputs. This facilitates the use of the multiplexer/demultiplexer in bipolar control systems, allowing both positive and negative control inputs. The AD7506KN multiplexer/demultiplexer has its own protection circuitry for preventing over-voltage, under-voltage and short circuits.
