The AD7512DIJP is an integrated circuit (IC) chip manufactured by Analog Devices. It is an integrated single-pole multi-throw (SPDT) ferroelectric random access memory (FRAM) switch with an integrated power on-reset MEMS release detector (MRD). The device is suitable for use in a wide range of applications where both high performance, low power consumption and accurate switching and sensing are required. The AD7512DIJP was designed to provide a low-power and relatively low-cost alternative to traditional FET switches.
Application Field
The AD7512DIJP is primarily used in power-managed systems, such as hand-held computers, wireless LANs and wireless communication devices, as it offers lower power consumption and longer battery life. It is also used for applications where fast switching and accurate sensing are required, such as network switching, video switching and pro-audio systems. This IC can also be used for industrial and automotive control systems.
Working Principle
The AD7512DIJP switch and MEMS release detector works by applying a voltage to the control pins, which cause the switch to operate. The switch can be used to route signals between logic circuits, as well as enable or disable specific circuits. When the switch is powered on, it will reset any pre-set functions, such as in network switches. The MEMS release detector monitors the switch and will detect if the switch opens or closes, using a MEMS (micro-electrical mechanical system) mechanism. This measured value is then reported via the output pins.
