The AD8561ARUZ is a high speed, low power, rail-to-rail input/output voltage comparator from Analog Devices. It is designed to operate from a single +3V to +5.5V supply and can be used in a wide range of applications where a fast response time, high accuracy, and low power consumption are required. This device features an internal voltage reference, so it is well suited for applications that involve resistive or capacitive sensors or low level analog signals. It is also an ideal choice for active overvoltage protection in communications systems and motor control applications. In terms of its linear-comparator applications, the AD8561ARUZ is ideal for amplifying, filtering, and monitoring high-speed analog signals. The comparator has a rail-to-rail input voltage range of 0 V to VDD, with the input stage optimized for fast response time and low power consumption. It also has a rail-to-rail output voltage swing, which enables rail-to-rail monitoring of small signals without a resistor. Additionally, the 10 µm fabrication process of the integrated circuit makes it ideal for high-speed analog applications, such as video and data communications, as well as any other specialized comparator applications. The operating principle of the AD8561ARUZ is based on a set of operational amplifiers, comparators, and logic gates. The operational amplifier is responsible for the rail-to-rail input voltage range and provides high accuracy. Its bandwidth is optimized for the maximum voltage swing of the input voltage range, and its high-speed single-cycle settling time of 800 ns allows it to achieve a response time of only 5 µs in a typical application. Additionally, the low-power architecture of the device enables it to operate at a very low supply current, of only 9 mA. Comparators and logic gates are used for comparison and data output. The device has two inputs, INA and INB, which are compared and their corresponding output, OUTA and OUTB, are set and reset respectively.
