The AD9161-FMCC-EBZ is an Evaluation Board from Analog Devices that is based on the AD9161, a high performance, quadrature modulation, digital-to-analog converter (DAC). The AD9161-FMCC-EBZ Evaluation Board is the industry’s first high speed DAC with two 14-bit, differential outputs. It can operate up to 3.6 GHz. The DAC is used for both RF digital and analog modulation. Its LVDS and on-board clock synthesize/VCO make it suitable for a broad range of applications such as cable TV, CATV, wireless, broadcast and satellite communications.
The Evaluation Board\'s design provides users with the flexibility to make their own configurations for different applications. The AD9161-FMCC-EBZ Evaluation Board consists of two core components, the AD9161 quad-DAC and the Analog Devices FMC150 Clock Synthesizer/VCO. The AD9161 is a high-performance, dual-channel 14-bit differential DAC that is capable of operating up to 3.6GHz. It is fully programmable, providing users with the flexibility to design their own system configurations according to the specific needs of the application. The AD9161 supports LVDS (low voltage differential signaling) and is ideal for radio systems that require high performance and power efficiency. The FMC150 from Analog Devices is a complete solution for clock synthesis and VCO based on CMOS technology. It provides a low power clock synthesizer and a selectable four to two channel VCO that can run up to 1100 MHz. The FMC150 includes a multitude of features such as programmable frequency range, phase noise pre-scaler, programmable clock and band-pass filter, and I2C detect and monitor loop. The AD9161-FMCC-EBZ Evaluation Board also includes four SMA connectors for fast connection of antennas.
