AD9201 is an analog to digital conversion chip, belonging to Data Acquisition - Analog to Digital Converters (ADC). It is integrated with 6 channels of 20-bit sigma delta A/D converters and 30-bit digital filter. Its excellent performance, low offset and low noise make it an ideal choice for applications such as power supplies, industrial instrumentation and automation.
AD9201ARSRL has two conversion modes, single-ended input gain of 1 and 5. In single-ended input gain of 1 mode, the input range is ± 10V, and it can be changed to ± 5V by setting the internal register. In single-ended input gain of 5 mode, the input range is ± 20V and can be changed to ± 10V by setting the internal register. It also has four output data formats: offset binary(OB), two-complement(TC), straight binary(SB) and unsigned (UB), which allows users to choose the format they need to use according to their own applications.
The working principle of AD9201 is an oversampling sigma-delta A/D conversion technology, which can reduce the out-of-band noise without sacrificing the signal accuracy. The oversampling process can enable the device to acquire 20-bit resolution or higher, which is much higher than other A/D converters in the same series. Besides, the consumption of power is extremely low, so it has become a preferred chip for many applications.
AD9201 has many featured applications. Firstly, for engineering and scientific applications, it can be used for acquiring data in power supply, industrial instrumentation, automation and control systems.
