The AD9231BCPZRL7-20 is an integrated high-speed 16-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) designed to bridge the gap between analog and digital environments. It is one of the few ADCs capable of delivering an outstanding combination of sample and hold accuracy, speed, and transient response for applications such as data acquisition systems, telecom systems and telecommunications test and measurement, radar and sonar systems, medical imaging and instrumentation, industrial automation, and automotive systems. The device includes a reference input and built-in reference buffers, data output flip-flop, clock output and monitoring functions.The AD9231BCPZRL7-20 is a single-channel ADC that accepts analog input within a 0-2.5V input range with 0-2.5V offset. The analog-to-digital conversion rate can reach a maximum of 20MS/s (Up to 12Gu/s data rate) resulting in a high-quality, 16-bit digital output. Its dynamic performance is further enhanced by a high sampling rate settling time (full-scale settling time of 7ns) and excellent small-signal linearity (SFDR of –87dB).The device also comes with advanced features such as digital double-sampling with anti-lock support to help minimize crossover distortion, four-way folding of the sampling clock to reduce jitter sensitivity, and built-in digital calibration which supports online external trimming of the analog block to ensure optimal performance. It has an internal 4xBUF and 4xMUX architecture which helps reduce power consumption and simplify circuit designs. A wide variety of digital output formats are supported such as I2S and TDM or dual-serial LVDS for faster data exchange and transmission.The AD9231BCPZRL7-20 provides up to 12.0GHz of bandwidth for data transfer when operated with a full 20MS/s speed. It has a ±1LSB input offset variation (ISV) and a low-noise floor of just 19nV/rtHz, thereby ensuring superior performance for applications with low-frequency signals such as telemetry, RF and audio. It also features a standby mode which reduces power consumption to less than 0.5mW while still allowing fast transition times when switching between wake-up and standby modes.The AD9231BCPZRL7-20 is an excellent solution for applications requiring an accurate and noise-free conversion of analog signals.
