The AD9520-5/PCBZ includes the components necessary for building your own high performance system, as well as all of the necessary resources for fully exploring the operation and features.Application Fields and Working Principles
The AD9520-5/PCBZ is designed for extreme accuracy and flexibility. It’s based on a number of advanced components, including phase-locked loops, programmable logic devices, clock synthesizers, and temperature compensated oscillators. Its primary application fields include communications infrastructure and aerospace, consumer electronics, automotive, industrial and medical applications.Phase-locked loops (PLL) are the most common form of frequency controllers used in electronic systems. A PLL consists of a feedback loop that compares two signals with a common reference and adjusts the frequency of one of the signals until it matches the other. This allows for the synchronized and regulated transfer of information, as well as the matching of data streams for optimum performance.The AD9520-5/PCBZ includes a selection of on-board clock synthesizers that provide exceptionally accurate clock control and other features such as spread spectrum and jitter attenuation. These on-board synthesizers are capable of generating a number of sub-harmonic outputs in addition to the primary clock output, providing a high degree of clock accuracy and versatility. These clock synthesizers are ideal for use in issues such as self-calibration and digital signal processing, and can include multiple clock outputs for parallel operation and timer control applications.Temperature compensated oscillators (TCXOs) are specialized oscillators designed to maintain extremely accurate frequency over a wide range of temperatures. TCXOs have an inherent temperature compensation characteristic that allows them to remain highly accurate over a wide range of operating temperatures. This makes them ideal for use in applications such as time reference and phase measurement.The AD9520-5/PCBZ detection section includes an on-board programmable logic device (PLD) which monitors both time and event signals. This PLD can be programmed to detect and respond to a wide variety of input parameters, such as time codes, level sensing, and period adjustments. This PLD can also be programmed to initiate any of a number of system events based on detected conditions.The AD9520-5/PCBZ is equipped with on-board control circuitry that can be used to program the module’s parameters for optimum performance. This control circuitry includes control over the primary inputs (voltage and temperature) as well as for programming the clock synthesizers and the PLD.
