The AD9540BCPZ-REEL7 is a low-power, fractional-N/integer-N, Fractional-N/integer-N, frequency synthesizer with integrated VCO suitable for cable, satellite, terrestrial TV and data communication systems. It combines the flexibility of a fractional divider, an integer divider, and an internal VCO reference frequency for fast frequency shifting and excellent spectral purity. The chip is ideal for applications requiring very high frequency tuning accuracy, such as low IF frequencies, high-end Frequency Modulated (FM) tuners, and DVB-T systems.
This clock generator is designed to generate frequencies up to 3.2 GHz with excellent spectral purity and low phase noise. It operates from a single 1.8 V or 3.0 V supply with excellent power efficiency. The digital phase frequency detector and charge pump provide fast loop settling time, allowing low frequency jitter on the output clock. The PLL supports fractional or integer-N divider ratios, a wide frequency range, and excellent linearity.
The AD9540BCPZ-REEL7 has a wide operating range from 0.1 to 3.2 GHz, making it ideal for a variety of wireless, satellite, and communications systems. It is a low-power device capable of consuming only 1.6 mA at 1.8 V and 2 mA at 3.0 V supply. It can generate a -75 dBc/Hz phase noise at a 1 MHz offset from a 1.8 GHz carrier.
The AD9540B includes a programmable loop filter, which allows great flexibility to customize the loop characteristics for specific applications. The PLL features a fast programmable charge pump current that provides ease of tuning and quick settle time during frequency transitions. Additionally, the device features a low jitter phase-frequency detector (PFD).
