The AD9707-DPG2-EBZ Evaluation Board is a digital-to-analog converter solution that offers a high level of accuracy and versatility in system design flexibility. It is an ideal solution for applications such as industrial, automotive, medical, and consumer electronics. It permits users to quickly evaluate the performance of AD9707-DPG2-EBZ devices without any additional hardware.The device features a 2-channel, 8-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC), which provides ±10V output voltage and frequency up to 20MHz with a 1 kHz sample rate. It operates from a single +5 V supply and is flexible enough to allow size and power efficient designs.At the same time, it features an IP core synthesis to enable multi-channel configurations and an intuitive digital interface for easy software control. The AD9707-DPG2-EBZ Evaluation Board provides an easy-to-use platform to test and evaluate the performance of the device.In terms of principles of operations, the DAC utilizes a two-step, simultaneous-switching technique to achieve low distortion and tremendous power efficiency. When a digital data word is presented to the input of the converter, an analog voltage is generated that is proportional to the digital input.First a low-voltage node element is driven by a charge pump, which generates a constant reference voltage. Then the current from the reference voltage is compared to the current from the presented data word. The output voltage is then generated by the simultaneous current switching that takes place in the low-voltage nodes between the reference voltage and the digital input. To achieve the optimal performance, the user should employ an optimized reference voltage, which should be adjustable through the use of a VCAP potentiometer and an external voltage. The device also features an internal voltage reference for greater accuracy.In addition to the converter’s internal protection features, the AD9707-DPG2-EBZ Evaluation Board also implements several protection features to protect the device from overvoltage, thermal stress, and short circuits. Short-circuit protection is achieved by monitoring the DAC output, while overvoltage and thermal protection are provided by the device’s onboard voltage and temperature sensors.The AD9707-DPG2-EBZ Evaluation Board is also suitable for all current and upcoming digital-to-analog converters, including the AD9707-DPG2-EBZ devices and can be used to test the performance of these devices in real world applications.The AD9707-DPG2-EBZ Evaluation Board is a versatile, easy to use platform for evaluation and development of digital-to-analog converters. With its high performance, low distortion and flexible architecture, it is an ideal solution for industrial, automotive, medical, and consumer electronics applications.
