It is a low phase noise clock generator that features an internal phase detection and phase locking loop (PLL) phase detector, a prescaler and an on-chip clock generator.The ADF4107BRUZ provides multiple output frequencies and supports up to 2.8 Gbps/channel rates. This makes it ideal for high-speed communications, storage, and multimedia applications where frequency accuracy and jitter are paramount.
The ADF4107BRUZ also features a built-in voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) that can generate an output frequency up to 1.2 GHz. It supports wide range frequencies spanning from 100 kHz to 1.2GHz and a phase noise level of -90 dBc/Hz at 10 kHz offset. The ADF4107BRUZ also has an integrated reference clock circuit with input frequency range of 10–120 MHz.
The heart of the ADF4107BRUZ is the on-chip phase-locked loop (PLL). The digital phase-locked loop (DPLL) is responsible for providing stable performance and reliable frequency regulation to applications. The DPLL contains two primary components; the phase detector and the voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO).
