The ADF4360-9BCPZRL7 PLL (Phase-Locked Loop) frequency synthesizer follows a different approach to frequency synthesis than other synthesizers. Its approach relies on an integrated frequency multiplier, rather than dividing the reference frequency. This device provides the ability to create output frequencies from 7 MHz to 3GHz, by only needing to provide a reference oscillator frequency from 1MHz to 10MHz. The ADF4360-9BCPZRL7 also contains a wide operating temperature range and very low power consumption, making it suitable for a variety of applications, particularly those within communications and automotive systems.The ADF4360-9BCPZRL7 is an IC (integrated circuit) made from CMOS (complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor). This allows the device to provide both high resolution and low power at the same time. The IC contains a phase-detector, a charge pump, a VCO (voltage controlled oscillator), a prescaler and a programmable modulator.
