ADG728BRU-REEL7, classified as an interface-analog switch, multiplexer, demultiplexer, enables analog and digital signal switching, multiplexing and demultiplexing in one device and could accommodates a wide range of applications in consumer electronics, industrial control systems and telecommunications. It is housed in the Pb-free and RoHS compliant SOIC-14 packages with an operating temperature of -40 to +85°C and supply voltage of ±3.3 V to ±12 V. As a single-channel multiplexer/demultiplexer, the ADG728BRU-REEL7 switches analog signals ranging from ±0.5 V to ±13 V with a low R ON of 100 Ω @ 10 V. The ADG728BRU-REEL7 consists of two 8:1 multiplexers and an analog switch. The multiplexers feature independent select inputs which must be driven from a low voltage logic supply (a common ground must be present) in order for the part to operate correctly. The multiplexers transmit the logic input levels to the analog switch such that one input channel is never active at the same time as another. The included analog switch carries signals from the common input pin to one of the eight isolated output pins as determined by the logic signals at its associated select inputs. When no signal is present at the multiplexer, the switch is off, enabling the signal of the output to be terminated in the distinct off-state impedance of the ADG728BRU-REEL7.The ADG728BRU-REEL7 is of high accuracy and low cost compared to other multiplexers. It offers a high degree of flexibility in terms of signal level control. As its maximum on-resistance is very low and independent of common-mode voltages, the device can switch signals with levels up to ±13 V. During switches, the ADG728BRU-REEL7 also provides a low on-resistance matching between the signal paths, maintaining a constant amplitude and rise/fall time.The ADG728BRU-REEL7 offers excellent isolation with a high input-to-output isolation of 50 dB and a wide isolation frequency of up to 5 GHz. It also provides low charge injection, crosstalk and ESD protection. Low power consumption and very low distortion make the ADG728BRU-REEL7 suitable for applications in instrumentation, communications and battery-powered systems. With small size, high speed and low cost, this device is great for multiplexing and demultiplexing of signals in industrial and telecom networks. The ADG728BRU-REEL7 can dramatically reduce power consumption by combining the functions of signal multiplexing, signal switching and demultiplexing in a single device. This device is fast and increases circuit efficacy with a speed of 30 ns for signal switching. The partitioning of the common-mode gain to keep even signal lengths and signal amplitudes makes it ideal for a variety of applications. The most suitable applications for the ADG728BRU-REEL7 include demultiplexer and multiplexer systems for interconnections, signal routing for automated systems, video routing systems, home theater systems, audio mixing equipment, telecommunications, broadcast systems and other communication systems.
