PMIC (Power Management Integrated Circuit), also referred to as PWM (Power Management and Monitoring), is a class of integrated circuits that are used in power management and control applications to provide superior power quality and accurate control and protection of the power delivery. The ADM809-5LART-REEL is an all-purpose PMIC series designed for use in automotive, consumer, industrial and communications devices, among other applications. It provides real-time power management, monitoring, and protection capabilities that enable reliable, safe, and efficient operation of a variety of systems.

The ADM809-5LART-REEL series uses a digital pulse width modulation (PWM) architecture to regulate power output, and provides superior reliability, flexibility and programmability. It includes a regulated voltage converter with adjustable output voltage, a switched capacitor step-up/step-down converter and multiple low-dropout (LDO) linear regulators. The series also provides a 16-bit I2C/SMBus interface for monitoring, control, and protection of the power and thermal state of the device. The ADM809-5LART-REEL is capable of providing up to 7.5 A of output current with a maximum power rating of 42 W.

The ADM809-5LART-REEL is designed to provide optimized power quality for a range of applications. It is used to regulate and monitor the output voltage levels in automotive, consumer, industrial and communications applications. In automotive applications, it is used to power a wide range of electronic components, such as air conditioners, antennas, and navigation systems. When the output voltage reaches the desired level, the controller enters the Sleep/Shutdown mode, where the power consumption is reduced to an absolute minimum until the output voltage again needs to be adjusted. The Burst/Enable mode is used to provide maximum power efficiency when the output voltage is low. In this mode, the controller switches into a burst mode, allowing the power consumption of the regulator to drop to a minimum until the output voltage again reaches its programmed level.

The ADM809-5LART-REEL series is designed with high efficiency, low power consumption and robust protection features, making it ideal for automotive, industrial and communications applications. The series utilizes advanced MOSFETs to ensure high switching performance, low voltage drop and small package size, enabling users to maximize their power efficiency and board space.
