The ADM8697ARU from Analog Devices is a Zero-Base sequential logic supervisor. This device has numerous applications including use in power management and systems that require real-time monitoring of power on and power off sequences for safety. The device supports industrial, medical and other embedded applications.

The ADM8697ARU is a Zero-Base sequential logic supervisor. It offers the system designer an integrated circuit solution that monitors up to 6 power rails. The rail sequencing, sequencing duration and power sequencing accuracy are all controllable by setting external resistors or adjusting other logic levels. The device also provides under-voltage monitoring and over-temperature protection, thereby making it an ideal component for embedded system design. This device also allows the system designer to program the inrush current setting and to monitor the current status of each rail in order to detect faults in the system.

The ADM8697ARU employs start up or shut down ordering between two or more power rails that are part of a system. The device first confirms that no erroneous power on or power off states exist, then decides whether it is safe to turn on or off a particular rail based on its current status. The on/off ordering itself is within the sequential logic architecture of the device, and can be easily configured using the available logic levels.
