  Digital Isolators are a type of semiconductor technology used for the purpose of insulation between electrical paths. Isolation is used to provide galvanic isolation between two or more circuits, thus preventing electrical shorts. ADN4652BRSZ is a type of digital isolator which provides galvanic isolation between two ICs in applications where high speed digital signals are used. It is specifically intended for use in high-speed pulse induced communications applications (such as 10 Gb/s Ethernet applications) and in high-speed pulse induced datapath applications (such as fiber-optic communications systems).

The ADN4652BRSZ is a low-power digital isolator that enables high-speed, low-power communications between two devices. It features a capacitor-free desaturation circuit with a direct current (DC) break, which reduces power consumption when it is inactive. The device can handle input signals up to 10 Gbps and can provide tremendous frequency agility to lower power consumption at lower speeds. The total propagation delay of the device is exceptionally low when compared to other digital isolators in its class.

The ADN4652BRSZ utilizes a transformer to provide isolation for signal path up to 1750Vrms. This transformer provides Faraday shield that helps to block capacitive and magnetic coupling between input and output. It also helps in eliminating ground loops. The device has two outputs, one for data and one for clock. The two outputs are then connected to the appropriate receivers. The clock signals are then regenerated after passing through the isolator.

The working principle of the ADN4652BRSZ is based on the concept of transformer coupling.
