Working principle

The ADP41310 pressure transducer uses the piezoresistive principle to measure pressure. Piezoresistive refers to the resistance of a material changing by an applied mechanical stress. The piezoresistive effect is created by micro-miniaturized silicon resistors, which are placed on the surface of the printed circuit board of the diaphragm and act as strain gauges. On the Printed Circuit Board (PCB), the strain gauges are wired into a Wheatstone Bridge circuit, which measures the resistance of the strain gauges. This variation in resistance is used to indicate a change in pressure.

The ADP41310 includes a built-in temperature compensation circuit. This ensures that pressure readings remain accurate over a wide temperature range. This temperature compensation circuit also acts as a short circuit protection system, preventing damage to the transducer in case of over-voltage.

The transducer has a high signal-to-noise ratio and a wide temperature range of -15°C to 80°C. It is also capable of measuring pressures up to 13 Bar, and features an analog 4-20mA output signal, as well as digital output signal.
