Working Principle
The ADS5232IPAGG4 employs pipelined successive-approximation architecture for data acquisition and conversion. This efficiently converts analog input signals to digital codes through an internal code-loop constructed from logic gates, basic counters, and digital-to-analog converters (DACs). The device first samples the analog voltage at the input and stores it in a successive-approximation register. This triggers the conversion process, and the device begins comparing the input voltage with a reference voltage, which is equivalent to the binary equivalent of the register value as it is successively changed one bit at a time. When a match is determined, the binary equivalent value of the reference voltage is stored in the register, which is then written to the device\'s output register. The device also features two differential, 16-bit, serial interfaces, the Sub-LVDS and SPDIF. These allow the device to communicate with higher-level digital logic devices, such as microprocessors and microcontrollers. The internal clock runs continuously, regardless of the sampling rate, and directly drives all the internal conversion processes. Every 32 clock cycles, an ADC conversion result is stored in the device\'s output register. By controlling the sampling rate, speed, and latency, the time necessary to generate results from the input can be changed.The power mode and control options available on the ADS5232IPAGG4 further extend its ability to meet data acquisition needs, with integrated power-saving features for both static and dynamic operation.
