The ADS58J89EVM (Evaluation Module) is a board designed to evaluate the performance of TI\'s ADS58J89 analog-to-digital converter (ADC). The ADS58J89EVM combines a Texas Instruments Inc. (TI) analog-to-digital converter (ADC) daughter card with a low power 8-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC) daughter card along with an Analog Devices Inc. (ADI) evaluation board. The ADI evaluation board in turn contains an Analog Devices Inc. (ADI) FPGA, and an array of digital and analog peripherals such as serial port, loopback connectors, and voltage measurements.

The ADS58J89EVM board Evaluation module is used primarily for evaluation and design of high-speed data transmission systems. The data transmission systems may include systems for medical imaging, automotive usages, radar, sonar and communications applications.The ADS58J89EVM board is used to evaluate and design transmission systems that support 16-lane (8-lane transmit and 8-lane receive) of data at a rate of 166.81 MBytes per second. Design

The ADS58J89EVM includes a variety of components and features depending on the user\'s design requirements. At the heart of the evaluation module is the ADS58J89 High-Speed, 16-Lane, 6-bit ADC, which isTI\'s 3rd generation ADC. The ADC is capable of operating at up to 166.81 MBytes/second and is designed to support the 16-lane ExDMA (Extreme Data Management Array) data bus. ExDMA is a part of the TI C6000 Dual-core Processor. It is designed to use two 7-lane transmit and receive processors to achieve a maximum throughput of 166.81 MBytes per second.The on-board electronics of the ADS58J89EVM are comprised of:
