Data Acquisition - Analog to Digital Converters (ADC) is a major component of electronics applications used in the modern world. A foremost component amongst them is the ADS8509IBDBR by Texas Instruments, a high performance 16bit Analog to Digital Converter in its component range. It converts single-ended analog inputs into 16bit digital words for further processing.

Prior to the DAC output, the signal is further processed in the post-processing stages to further adjust the gain and offset, and then apply the desired digital filter.
Additionally, the ADS8509IBDBR has a programmable 0V to 3.3V reference input. Special care has to be taken while setting the reference voltage, as it has a direct effect on the resolution of the A / D conversion results.
