One lead must be attached to a negative power supply connection and the other must be attached to a positive connection. It is made of two electrodes, at least one of which is made of aluminum. The lightweight and low cost aluminum is then rolled with a thin oxide film. When voltage is applied, the oxide film will become an electrolyte, thereby forming two layer electrical capacitor. One layer of the capacitor forms the cathode and the other layer forms the anode. The layer that forms negative is stored in the electrolyte, and the layers that form the positive is mainly composed of aluminum oxide on the surface of the aluminum foil.
