AK8142 application field and working principleThe AK8142 is a low-power voltage-controlled clock generator that supports high-frequency signals for clock generation, PLLs, frequency synthesizers, and signal distributions. It is an ideal product for embedded application which produces frequencies proportional to the applied voltage. The AK8142 is designed with a single-bit differential sigma-delta modulator, a capacitive DAC and a divide-by-N counter. This combination offers accuracy, flexibility, and a wide range of clock output frequencies.The AK8142 is used in a variety of applications, such as PLLs, frequency synthesizers and signal distribution. It is primarily used to generate precise clock signals or to generate two or more precise clock signals with different frequencies. The AK8142 is also used in communication systems and data conversion systems to produce precise clocks for a variety of applications.The working principle of AK8142 is divided into two parts, namely the voltage control and clock output. First, the voltage control is used to control the clock output frequency. The voltage control is achieved by controlling the charge at the capacitor of the on-chip DAC.
