AM5718AABCXEQ1 is a high performance Arm-Cortex A15 series embedded microprocessor. It is designed by Texas Instruments and adopted in embedded systems as well as IoT applications. According to TI, it is designed for applications that requires low-power consumption and requires high performance computing and multimedia capabilities.

The AM5718AABCXEQ1 is programmed for special-purpose applications, such as robotics, healthcare, industrial automation, security, and surveillance, retail and point-of-sale, automotive sense and control, point-of-sale, video gaming, sensing and imaging, industrial control and monitoring. Features
The AM5718AABCXEQ1\'s core features includes a 32bit Arm Cortex A15 RISC processor running at 1GHz, a floating-point unit, and a vector floating-point unit, direct PCI Express ports and multimedia acceleration. Additionally, it comes with a dual-core ARM Cortex M4 processor, dual-core ARM Cortex R5, and a 32bit Real-time Wake-Up coprocessor. It also features four SGMII interfaces and an ARM Cortex R4 Domain Security Co-processor.
Power Management
The AM5718AABCXEQ1 also has comprehensive power management, which allows it to automatically adjust the processor core frequency according to the temperature and power requirements of the application. This reduces power consumption and extends the processor life, thus reducing operating cost and increasing reliability.
Working Principle
The processor core works by fetching instruction from the memory address, decoding them and executing instructions. After execution, the results are stored in a register. The core has separate instruction and data caches which store instructions and data locally to speed up processing.
