The AN33017UA-EVB-0 is suitable for the development of AC/DC applications requiring up to 60W output power. It incorporates a half-bridge LLC resonant converter with PFC control. The output voltage rail can be set using two selectable resistors on the board. The output voltage can range from 0.6V to 20V depending on the set resistors. It also includes an adjustable soft-start time and adjustable maximum peak current limit.

When it comes to the working principle, the AN33017UA-EVB-0 includes a buck PFC pre-regulator, followed by an LLC resonant converter stage and auxiliary circuits including the current sense and soft-start controls. The input AC voltage is rectified and smoothed using the PFC pre-regulator and then fed to the LLC resonant converter stage. The LLC stage runs at a high frequency with the voltage across the auxiliary transformer. This voltage is rectified to obtain the desired DC output and the current sense circuit helps to control the output current. The output stage uses a programming resistor to adjust the output voltage according to the desired setting.
